This grassroots, driver led organization provides information and resources for fellow drivers, prospective CDL students, tr The information we share on this website and in our social media networks, aims to help newcomers to the industry see beyond the inflated claims of the “Truck Driver Shortage” and realize that high turnover in entry-level truck driver training is occurring because of a broken system. Exploitation of disenfranchised , uninformed new entrants to truck driver training happens to thousands of people each year. Women are at a particular risk because they are often misled into trucking with unrealistic expectations. The result of this can be sexual misconduct, violence, retaliation and leaving the industry in less than 1 year with a useless CDL and unpaid tuition debt. Our purpose is to educate new CDL entrants, network appropriate CDL training programs and finishing school carriers to pave a path to success. We are available to provide information to the media, interested public and human resource managers about unsafe truck driver training practices that are not being addressed in any intelligent manner. Please help support our mission through Since 2008, I have used twitter to speak out on my personal truck driver training story and the issues other CDL students were having but I also have used twitter to speak about my personal rape story which was a 20 year cold case that was solved in 2008. As my I built my twitter presence I became active in sharing the tweets of others for many social justice issues including human trafficking and animal rescue. I followed the lead of other social justice rock-stars I met on twitter who inspired me to use my free time for something productive like helping others in any way I could. Being on the road, that meant “RT” (ReTweet) . There is so much more to share about how my life and Karma’s life have changed just from being involved in the Twitter community. We are very grateful and we hope you enjoy the film. After I was on my own, solo driving, I resisted driving in unsafe conditions, and was severely punished for it. My miles were cut to shreds, dispatchers were rude and demeaning to me, they engaged other drivers to participate in activities to humiliate me, and they deliberately gave me unsafe equipment to pull. When I finally left the company, I received a derogatory remark on my DAC, and I am to this day, ineligible for rehire. That was 12 years ago, and although I never had an accident or so much as a ticket while employed there, they have refused my application several times since. All of this has taken a toll on my health. I am now at home because the stress of having to maintain my position for safety, of having to defend my sleep time, and having it always interrupted, has driven my blood pressure sky high. I was sent home 2000 miles with only that which I could carry. The company denied my short term disability, and I couldn’t pay the shipping on the rest of my belongings. The company discarded all my stuff. All my tools, clothes, equipment, some very personal and irreplaceable stuff like gifts from my family, all gone. Our Mission is to empower the women of trucking and those entering the industry through outreach programs, continuing education, advocacy, mentoring, networking and ongoing support to promote retention, encouragement, and unity between both new and seasoned female drivers.
