Lakeland Community Theatre, Inc., a non-profit organization rooted in the cultural fabric of Lakeland, Florida, is celebrated for its unwavering commitment to enriching community life through live theatre. Since its inception by dedicated volunteers in 1986, the theater has evolved from staging two children’s productions annually under the name The Pied Piper Players to becoming an eminent institution known as Lakeland Community Theatre. Today, it stands proud in its 32nd season with a diverse roster of theatrical offerings. These include five high-quality mainstage productions each year and three outstanding musicals for youth through The Eunice Fuller Theatre for Youth, which is entering its 15th season. The organization's broad artistic program is complemented by educational initiatives designed to foster lifelong learning among participants of all ages. These programs encompass camps, classes, workshops, a traveling troupe serving schools, and productions tailored to special needs youth and adults, further enriched by partnerships with numerous local cultural organizations like The Imperial Symphony Orchestra and Polk Museum of Art. Lakeland Community Theatre maintains an impressive record over 31 years, having presented more than 221 quality productions, engaged over 4,750 performers on stage, mobilized over 8,750 behind-the-scenes volunteers, and entertained audiences exceeding 420,000 attendees. The Eunice Fuller Theatre for Youth reaches Polk County students through educational matinees at reduced or no cost. In alignment with its mission to be accessible yet sustainably funded, the theatre operates on a model that balances affordable ticket prices with community-supported revenue streams such as sponsorships, grants, and major fundraisers. The support from the City of Lakeland is instrumental in maintaining this thriving community asset.
