Who we are Founded in 1974, the Coffey Group (Coffey Construction Ltd, Coffey Construction (I) Ltd and Coffey Water Ltd) is a family owned engineering-led Civil Engineering, Environmental and Building contracting group of companies. We operate in every major construction sector and we undertake work throughout the UK and Ireland. Coffey Group has a substantial modern Civil Engineering plant fleet which covers the full spectrum of Civil Engineering needs and provides us with the flexibility to meet the daily demands of our construction projects. To maintain our plant fleet, we constructed a purpose-built, fully equipped plant maintenance depot at our Head Office. Odran Madden is a Chartered Engineer with 17 years’ experience in the construction industry and 12 years’ experience at management level undertaking civil engineering and building construction projects of varying scales, values and complexities. He has worked for Coffey Group since graduating in 2000. Odran has gained extensive knowledge and experience in water, wastewater, road, rail, energy and specialist engineering projects. His role is to ensure that all projects are completed safely, to a high standard, to our clients’ satisfaction and that the project teams are provided with the necessary technical support and resources. Barry is Group Chairman with executive responsibility for development and implementation of Group Strategy, corporate structure and corporate governance. A Chartered Certified Accountant, Barry has over 20 years’ experience in the construction industry including 15 years with Ireland’s largest construction business as Company Secretary and latterly as Finance Director. Simon Coffey, Director of Business Development and Plant Gary has worked in the construction industry for over 10 years, having first joined the Coffey Group in 2002. He was instrumental in developing and implementing our Quality and Environmental Management Systems and achieving accreditation against ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 and ISO 50001. Gary oversees the preparation of all project quality and environmental plans and site waste management plans. Gary coordinates the management review of business functions and presents regular reports to the Board on our performance against our Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental objectives and internal Key Performance Indicators. Galway H65 Y078 Cathal started working with Coffey Construction in 1994 and also spent 3 years working in the Canadian construction industry. He began work with the company as a General Operative, and gradually, through experience gained on site and continuous education, he has developed into an integral part of the company’s organisational structure and now occupies the role of Group Construction Manager. Thomas Loftus, General Manager Coffey Water Ltd. Thomas has over 10 years’ industry experience primarily in the design, build, operation and maintenance of water and wastewater infrastructure, in addition, Thomas has held management roles in the building and civil sectors. Thomas qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering from NUI Galway and a master’s degree in Water and Wastewater Engineering from Cranfield University. Technically and commercially astute, Thomas provides direction to Coffey Groups water and wastewater related activities across Ireland and the UK. Martina is a qualified Chartered Management Accountant with over 20 years’ experience in finance. Throughout her career, Martina has performed all the roles associated with the finance function in various industries including financial services, telecommunications, food production as well as construction, experience has been obtained both in Ireland and the UK.Having joined Coffey Group in 2007, Martina now performs the role of Financial Controller and uses her knowledge and experience in the areas of financial and management accounting to deliver financial support and direction to and for the Group.
