BROADWAY KID STARZ, INC., Hasbrouck Heights

Ms. Kathleen, thank you so much for giving me confidence and moxie when I’m either on stage or in front of the camera. For the past two years, your camp has allowed me to let go and look deeper into my character’s motives and decision-making ideology. Not only did we all make wonderful productions, but we also made long-lasting friends and connections.  (2016 and 2017 Camper)  Hi Kathleen!  I wanted to thank you and let you know that you have been an amazing positive influence on Dylan and sparked a fire of passion in Dylan at an early age. When we think of what true success is, it is the differences that we can make in the lives of others to find their way, lives, and passions and help them take that step in the right direction.  Your success here will last a lifetime. I am glad to have you in Dylan's life. Thank you!  Over the last several years i have continued acting, and have recently preformed my twelfthish  role, and a tech credit away from achieving thespians.  i really would like to thank you for all you've done for me, you really have had a huge impact on  my life. Your advice and encouragement has helped build who i am today and who i hope to be.  thank you, Gracie really enjoyed working with you and the experience was great.  She definitely has the theater bug.  She is interested in doing a lot more. Wow, Ms. Myrick your camp delivers!  You truly inspire and bring out the best in the students pursuing their disciplines in all that theatre encompasses.  From auditions, staging, tech, marketing, costumes, acting, singing, choreography and striking a set, to name a few you teach and foster an atmosphere of learning and applying yourself to the fullest and doing your best to produce a great show.  Under your instruction we have seen Erin apply these attributes to many other areas in her life that have brought her great success.  All that you instill flows over into other facets of your student’s lives and we could not be more thankful!  BKS opens the introduction to the art of theatre. The NYC project was absolutely amazing!  What inspiring actor/actress does not want to perform in New York?  You made this possible not only with fulfilling dreams of making it a reality, but you also gave opportunities for master classes with professionals in singing and acting. In Erin’s words BKS is “magical” and in ours your camp is a gem in that Ms. Myrick brings out the best in her students.  She makes them shine.  Your camp rocks!  Thanks so much for inspiring and the wonderful memories to be cherished for years to come!!!!  All Erin talks about is your camp and the NYC project:)  Cheers to you on such a successful weekend! I hope you enjoyed your champagne with friends and Toasted yourself! I hope that it was all you wanted and more! Thank you! Karleigh is still flying high about the amazing experience! You ROCK! Glad we are on this awesome, fun and creative journey with you! It's a rare individual who can take a group of 50 children and, in just 12 days, ready them to perform in a musical based on a famous Broadway play and movie.  What organization!  What discipline!  The outpouring of energy and encouragement Ms. Myrick bestowed upon each child -- the group as a whole -- was absolutely amazing.  Every young actor who played a part in the Summer 2014 production of Fiddler on the Roof Jr. can be proud.  This was no average children's show, it was entertainment at its best.  Thank you, Ms. Myrick!  Over the past 5 years, Courteney has been apart of Broadway Kid Starz and just has had an amazing experience doing it. Ms. Myrick has taught her so much and beyond between acting and voice that she has know been accepted into the college of fine arts at Jacksonville University. Even thought Courteney is getting older and someday may not be apart of this camp, she will always take the things she has learned from Kathleen and keep going with them. This is one amazing director that I can't say thank you enough for all the things Courteney has achieved by working with her. She will always continue to work hard and grow with voice and acting and never give up on what her passion for arts is. Thank you Kathleen for teaching her so much. Ms. Myrick, I cannot thank you enough! I credit much of my confidence and success within performing to you. Under your direction I found my voice and realized my dreams can and will come true. Each lesson was challenging and inspiring, my two favorite things when it comes to singing! Each member of Broadway Kid Starz, whether a voice or acting student, is a great friend and an amazing sense of support. The two summers I was able to attend camp changed my outlook on acting and performing. The hard work by all of us, and especially you, taught me about determination, success, how to work with unexpected circumstances, and most importantly about the art and love of performing. Ms. Myrick, you have gone out of your way to stay in contact with me since I made the big move to the University of Florida. I appreciate every time you check in with me, all the times you have been there to answer my questions at midnight, the advice you've given me, and especially for preparing me for my Music Education audition. My acceptance into the school of music and the amazing scholarship show the progress made beginning back in the 9th grade. I am so grateful to have been a part of the Broadway Kid Starz family for the past five years and am thrilled for the next five!  Hey Kathleen! I am now a Freshman BFA Acting Major at Ithaca College in NY! I don’t know if you’d like to add me since we worked together so long ago, but Cinderella had a HUGE impact on my career. It really solidified my decision to do this for the rest of my life (which is a pretty big deal to 6th grader). This play was the epitome of my grade school experience, and also helped me learn that I have noduls, and I still have them to this day and some people say that’s what makes me distinct as an actress. It was a lot of hard work, and you pushed me in ways I didn’t know I could be. I broke down, I cried, I laughed, and I sang my little heart out. In the end it made me so much better as an actress and now I have the hide of a rhino. Thank you Mrs. Myrick, for helping me be where I am today.
