American Twisters, Inc., known for its gymnastics programs as American Twisters Gymnastics, was established in May 1986 by Tim Rand. Its founding mission centered on offering fitness and a safe, enjoyable physical activity environment for children of all ages while fostering an appreciation for gymnastics. The organization started humbly with just 45 athletes but quickly evolved to become an esteemed entity within the competitive gymnastics arena in the USA, thanks to quality training programs and distinguished coaching staff. Under Tim Rand's leadership, alongside his partner Toni LaFleur (married in 1989), American Twisters underwent rapid expansion. This included opening additional facilities like Twisters of Boca Raton by 1992 and later expansions due to increased student enrollment. The program's success was marked by a transition of its main facility to Lyons Technology Center in 2002, achieving USA National Team Training Center status and securing numerous titles at state, regional, national, and international levels. Significant accomplishments include consistent qualification of athletes for Junior Olympics Nationals across multiple years, with several qualifying for the USA National Team. Over 70 athletes have also secured athletic scholarships to major universities through American Twisters' programs. Today, both the Boca Raton and Coconut Creek locations uphold a commitment to excellence by serving over 2000 students weekly while offering diverse activities from gymnastics and dance to camps and cheerleading. The mission at Twister Gymnastics focuses on developing happy, healthy, responsible kids through an inclusive environment that fosters self-worth and personal growth. With professional, safety-certified staff and a rich culture of learning and teaching, American Twisters continues to inspire both coaches and participants.
