It all started in Miami in 2011, when Mitra decided to move to Miami at age 18 to find herself and her passions. She travelled down to south Florida with no plan in her hands and nowhere to stay. Three weeks into residing in south Florida she met a woman by the name of Valerie Sims who was in fact Birdman and Slim’s Assistant and Session Coordinator at the renowned Hit Factory Criteria Recording Studios. Mitra soon got in touch with the urban crowd and was introduced to various artists and celebrities, quickly making great connections. One of these great connections came when Mitra met a woman named Laura, who at the time was P. Diddy’s set manager for 16 years. After a brief meeting with Mitra, Laura agreed to help her out with finding work in the city. Laura then connected her with Timbaland’s artist Benjamin Steele and was offered to work on set as a stylist. Her first gig involved styling 16 models within an hour and a half and she knocked it out of the ball park. That gig lasted a day and a half on a tour bus roaming around Miami from set to set with a lot of hard work. Due to her abilities and talent she performed during that gig, more and more styling work came her way. Mitra quickly came to the realization that doing hair was her passion and the career path she was going to take. She moved back to Orlando where she attended and graduated a private school, Hair Design Institute of Cosmetology in Apopka, Florida in 2013. Her first salon job was in Hair Cuttery in Bayhill. From there, Mitra had an apprenticeship at Luxe Salon and soon after started working at Trend Studios Downtown where she became a Master Colorist.
