Something that can be used for support or help. An available supply that can be drawn on when needed.
Notice that the resource is there to be drawn on like a well. There is no verb in the dictionary "to resource." EO does not engage in pouring water on the client's head. Seen as a trusted partner, EO works where and when needed. The client provides the driving force for the project for which EO provides expertise when called for.

You believe there just has to be more to business than making the quarterly numbers.
You are all spending a major portion of your lives working your heads off and feeling no real satisfaction, meaning, or joy in doing so. There must be more to work than this.
— Ultimately, creating an Extraordinary Organization will require that everyone act differently. For instance everyone will need to accept responsibility and accountability for their part of making their joint enterprise successful.
—They will need to become aware of, honor, and share feelings. They will need to focus on "being" not just "doing". In order to follow a path that will be seen by many as different if not downright crazy, they will need to increase their self-esteem and commitment to developing both themselves and the organization.

In EO terms an organization is a system of people that carry out a system of tasks. Together, these two systems make up an enterprise, business, or company.
The organization members provide the capabilities and energy to make the enterprise function. Therefore, EO work reserves the term "organization" for the human system. It uses words like enterprise, business, or company for the combination of the organization and the system of tasks its members perform.

In 1970 Don entered the UCLA School of Business doctoral program in the Behavioral Science area, which could more accurately be called Organization Science.
Besides his major field, Don had two minors also extremely relevant to Organization Science. At the time, UCLA was one of the foremost schools in Socio-Technical Systems-viewing organizations as a social system formed in conjunction with a technology system. In addition, this department was involved in the Quality of Work Life movement so that he was also exposed in considerable depth to early efforts to improve work life in business organizations.
Don realized, however, that organizational life involves individuals living their personal lives in relationship with others. He therefore designed his own second minor, Dyadic Relationships. Through this he was able to study the psychology of individuals and relationships. His major field studies also included learning about relationships as he was trained to lead what were then called "T Groups" or "Sensitivity Training." This was actually the precursor to the encounter group era but in this case was designed for leadership training, team building, and for helping people understand their own behavior in groups.
