"I've hired Jason for three of my yacht transactions. He worked tirelessly for me on each occasion. If you are looking for an enjoyable unique experience in buying or selling make Jason your first and only call." - Noel Neelands
"Jason has been my broker in buying a new yacht and in selling a yacht. He went well beyond doing a superb job in my purchase and sale. He has always been there to make recommendations for crew, service and much more. I have never dealt with a more honest and reputable person. I strongly recommend Jason to anyone looking to not only enjoy the process of buying or selling a yacht but to get an honest no hassle experience." - Allan Goldstein
Industry professionals listening to the "do's and dont's" of yacht buying and selling by Jason Wood.
I’ve seen a lot during my 20 years in the boating industry. Currently I am a broker for Rick Obey and Associates. I am an expert broker/advisor on the Sunseeker and Ferretti Group product lines. I am a curator for the yacht division of one of the world’s largest luxury lifestyle web sites. In addition to curating and sales I am a public speaker and key yacht advisor to several estate management and concierge associations. When time allows I am also an author.
I started in this business at the bottom. Literally. I cleaned toilets and washed boats for a few years. This was 20 years ago. I quickly saw a need for quality service in the yacht industry and took advantage of a gap in the market. My work ethic allowed me to turn a few detail jobs here and there to managing 100 boats a week within a 182 mile service area. Within a few years my work vans and crew members were stationed in marinas up and down the west coast. That’s when I decided to move out east and invest in Florida.
I began working at Grove Isle Marina in Coconut Grove. My first week in business I had 10 boats under my care. 12 months later I had secured accounts both north and south and again found my self in need of a new challenge. I was invited to take over services at one of the largest boat yards in the Caribbean. I jumped at the challenge. I spent two years repairing yachts of all sizes before returning to Florida to help clients locate and purchase their dream vessels. It has been a fantastic journey. It’s an experience that has given me a deeper understanding of how clients want to be treated and not treated.
I created ‘Yacht Habit’ to give boaters a place to come and find professional advice without the heavy “salesmanship” the industry is unfortunately full of. Here at ‘Yacht Habit’ I listen to you. Time isn’t the driving factor for me in a sale. Pressure, “sales techniques” are not part of my process. My client’s enjoyment in the process is far more important to me than simply “closing the deal”. My clients all agree, they have never had a buying or selling experience like the ones they have had with me.
My hope is that you contact me and schedule a time to tell me what you are looking to do. Are you thinking about buying a boat? Are you thinking about selling a boat? Either way I can help you. I have relationships with nearly every dealership and brokerage in South Florida and beyond. I can utilize those relationships to get to the bottom line when buying or selling. Please give me a call and enjoy your Yacht Habit.
