As a 3rd generation family-owned and operated produce company, we are proud to be a leader in the agricultural industry and carry on our family legacy. Family Business Our family business started with humble beginnings on the streets of New York City selling produce from a pushcart. Over the years, the company has grown considerably since our days trading fresh produce at the farmer’s market. Wish Farms today is a year-round supplier of strawberries and blueberries offering both conventional and organic varieties. Our growing operations have expanded to regions across the United States, South America and Canada. Mission Statement The seeds of our success go all the way back to 1900, when Harris Wishnatzki immigrated to New York City from Russia. He began selling produce from a pushcart, which soon led to starting a wholesale business in 1922. Eventually the family became involved in produce buying in Central Florida and made their way down south. Over 90 years later, Wish Farms has continually evolved its operations through innovative procedures and strategic partnerships with its growers. In 2010, the company launched its consumer brand, Wish Farms featuring Misty, the garden pixie. Nationally recognized for quality and innovation, Wish Farms grows both conventional and organic varieties and is a year round supplier of strawberries and blueberries, and seasonal in select vegetables. Wish Farms utilizes How’s My Picking?, a patented tool for traceability to ensure quality by tying consumer feedback to specific information from each day’s harvest. Third generation family-owner, Gary Wishnatzki, takes great pride in continuing his family’s legacy while uploading the company’ core values of quality, integrity and responsiveness. Joe & Lester Wishnatzki, 2nd generation, joined the business. Gary became President of the family business. Wish Farms began its own growing operation to help supplement produce supplies for the shipping business. The company invested in becoming a year round the Florida division. The company was renamed Wishnatzki Farms The company invested in a strawberry processing facility to supplement production capacity. Fresh strawberries are processed to make juice and frozen products. The consumer brand Wish Farms Misty the Garden Pixie was launched. Wish Farms was announced as the The company officially changed its name to Wish Farms. The 4th generation Wishnatzki family members started working for the company. From the start, charity giving and community involvement has been an important focus of Wish Farms as well as the Wishnatzki family. Today, our company is actively involved in numerous local and national charity events; donating our time, money and fresh berries. Our philanthropic efforts go beyond charitable donations. From 2005 thru 2013, Wish Farms hosted an annual Pro-Am Tennis Tournament, which raised over $600,000 in 8 years. Funds from the annual Pro-Am were donated to two very worthy causes: University of South Florida Wishnatzki Family Migrant Scholarship Fund and Redlands Christian Migrant Association. The goal of the fellowship is to help develop leaders and improve educational opportunities for migrant children. The scholarship is awarded to a USF student from a migrant or seasonal farm worker family who is pursuing a graduate degree in education at the USF College of Education. Wish Farms has turned the focus from the tennis courts to the strawberry fields. We now host an annual Strawberry Picking Challenge charity event each February during the Florida season. All proceeds, are donated to the children at Redlands Christian Migrant Association (RCMA); a Florida nonprofit that provides quality childcare and early education for children of migrant farm workers and rural low-income families. In 2015, the event donated $76,000 to RCMA.
