mission statetment A civil engineer and contractor by profession with a love for world-wide missions, John founded BCM in 2010 as a way to meet both the spiritual and physical needs of the people of Burundi, one of the poorest countries in the world. John also is an elder in his local church, First Baptist Church of Windermere, FL. John was commissioned by FBCW to go to Burundi in 2009 on an evangelistic mission trip but also with the goal of finding one or more “Great Compassion” projects that FBCW might perform in the ensuing months. BCM was born out of that first mission trip and since that time, many lives have been won for Christ through the planting of a church in the province of Karusi, an orphanage has been adopted and developed, a primary school has been constructed, and over 500,000 meals have been shipped to Burundi from the U.S . An Orlando, FL resident and graduate of Auburn University with a BSCE and a professional engineer in the State of Florida. He has been married to his wife, Patricia for 44 years and has two daughters and 3 grand-daughters. John has traveled extensively around the world on short-term mission trips to Cuba, Turkey, Brazil and several countries in Africa. Carol has worn many hats as a staff member at First Baptist Church of Windermere. With a degree in Early Childhood she started her career at FBCW in 2005 as the Preschool Director and then onto Recreation, Children’s Ministries, and currently serving as their Womens, Seniors and Global Missions Director. Use them well to serve one another.” This has been evident throughout Carols life where she has been able to take all her gifts and talents and share them with others. Since 2012 she has encouraged others to “Go” on mission trips and to use their gifts and talents. Mark’s business and ministry background has allowed him to visit five continents over the past 20 years. Mark, along with his wife Rachel, has a passion for the mission field and they have been to over 15 countries. Scroll down to read more about Mark. Mr. Bateman is currently CFO of Gibbs & Register, Inc. a construction company located in Winter Garden, FL while Rachel serves at First Baptist Church Windermere in the recreation ministry. Mark has more than 25 years of experience in accounting, finance, operations and has held numerous executive management roles at blue-chip companies. Mark has lived in Barcelona, Spain and during that period was responsible for real estate development and European expansion of GE/Universal's resorts. Mr. Bateman’s experience includes the review and evaluation of all design, construction, operational finance and reporting processes and procedures for large corporations, civil engineering and construction companies, government contractors and manufacturing businesses. Joyce and her husband Tim own their own business Fake Productions, which makes her a perfect office administrator for BCM. Chuck is also the senior pastor of First Baptist Church of Windermere, FL. (FBCW). He has also led a number of short-terms mission trips to Burundi with team members both inside and outside of FBCW. Chuck has been instrumental in helping to promote the ministries of BCM as an extension of FBCW. Chuck has been married to his wife, Gina, for 33 years and has two sons and 2 grandsons. He has served on the pastoral staff at FBCW for over 17 years. He has shepherded the substantial growth of home and foreign missions at FBCW and has led by example in emphasizing the strategic importance of the Great Commandment, the Great Commission and the Great Compassion in the spreading of the Gospel in Central Florida and “ends of the earth”.
