According to a 2017 article in Vogue “transformative travel” is the wave of the future. But what does that mean? In 2016 the latest trend in travel was experiential. The goal of travelers was to go beyond the touristic and to become immersed with local culture – to truly interact with the locals, and to find the real natural world. That is truly what travel should be all about. But in the future travelers will seek even more than authentic experience. Trimble asserts that more and more travelers will be motivated by “a shift in perspective, self-reflection… and a deeper communion with nature and culture.” More will look to travel to change who they are! We are certainly happy to hear about such a trend. We say that because our passion for what we do, through each adventure, is to dive into the richly authentic natural world and local culture and history – And to come back from the journey somehow different. This hike with a master naturalist through a cypress forest filled with rare orchids, bromeliads, and wildlife will change your life! The boat trip part of this adventure is exhilarating too. Venture with your guide on a small fast boat through the mangrove islands that only the long-time locals know how to navigate. This is your chance to see numerous dolphins jumping in the wake of the boat, large white pelicans, manatees, and more. Try our Air Boat Ride and Nature Walk with a Naturalist in Everglades National Park Tour. Venture off the beaten path with your experienced naturalist guide, and make many wildlife discoveries together. See birds, alligators and other wildlife up close. Learn about the unique flora and fauna of this national treasure. Then head out on a 1-hour air boat ride into the REAL Everglades with your native guide. There are no alligators in cages and pens on this tour. We don’t believe in that kind of experience. Remember, we want to seek out what is real! Head out into the vast space of the Everglades on a fast moving, smaller type air boat – one that can allow you to truly explore. See large alligators out in the wild where they should be viewed – up close! Visit a Native American tree island village where people lived up until the 1960s. Become immersed in their culture. It will change your outlook on the connection between all of us and the natural world. Or maybe you want to see what the true Florida Keys is all about with a marine biologist / naturalist guide. Join us for a full day of paddle boarding or kayaking – followed by snorkeling or scuba diving out in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. You will have the opportunity to see sharks, rays, manatees, sea turtles, numerous varieties of tropical fish, and much more. We can offer you a resort course where you will practice with a dive master in the pool in the morning followed by a dive on the reef in the afternoon.
