About Westover Arms Constructed in 1947, designed by Albert Anis, the Westover Arms was hailed at the time as “something novel in the line of apartment projects – a five story elevator building”. Earlier buildings from the depression era in Miami Beach were typically walk-ups limited to two or three stories. The Westover Arms Heralded a new trend that catered to the rapidly increasing year-round population of the city after World War II as a result of the economic boom and the development of air-conditioning technology. The building originally offered 36 rental apartments ranging in size from efficiencies to three bedroom units. The Westover Arms was designed in the postwar modern style, an evolution of art deco that retained the overall symmetry but updated the decorative details, such as the “boxed” and banded windows and zigzag “eyebrow”. The yellow brickwork used on the front facade and window spandrels was a building material seldom seen on Miami Beach buildings prior to the post war boom. Utilizing architect Charles Benson’s design, developers Ismael Perera and Herminio Menendez performed a complete interior and exterior restoration that began in 2008 and concluded in 2012. Business Services Reservations require a credit card on file but WILL NOT be charged until two (2) days from the check-in date. Two (2) days prior to check-in, a first night deposit excluding taxes and fees will be charged to the credit card originally provided. If the reservation is cancelled more than two (2) days before the check-in date, the credit card will not be charged and no penalty applied. If the reservation is cancelled within two (2) days of the check-in date, the card will not be refunded. Reservations are based on availability. Any changes to a reservation is subject to availability of the requested room category, and to the prevailing rates. Charges cannot be applied to other stays, services or merchandise. We reserve the right to cancel a reservation in the event we become aware of or are notified of fraud or illegal activity associated with the payment of this reservation.
