About West Florida Budokan Ross’s rigorous education not only prepares him as an instructor but also provides him with an invaluable insight into the experience of his students. He is a direct student of both Joe Purcell Jr., the inheritor of Wu-Wei Gung Fu, and Joseph Cowles, the founder of Wu-Wei Gung Fu and an original student of Bruce Lee’s Jun Fan Institute. Through an introduction by Joseph Cowles, He met Jesse Glover and Lifetime friendship began. His friendship with Jesse Glover, Bruce Lee’s first student, continually encouraged him to continue the field of judo and Gung Fu. Ross has completed competitive Judo training under Vince Tamura, Ken Patteson, Tommy Dyer and more. Don’t expect Ross to start resting on his laurels any time soon. He’s integrated pressure Chi Sao into Judo grip fighting and conducted Judo clinic for students as well as Judo application for BJJ in Washington, Wisconsin and Florida. These days, Ross enjoys training his students with the expert hand he’s so well known for at West Florida Budokan. We're Moving!
