Meet Joan Spadafina Phelps A professional educator, Joan Spadafina Phelps received her bachelor’s degree from Montclair State University, and attended her graduate studies there as well. Joan’s personal passion for wellness began its cultivation in childhood. Through the years, this fervor grew into a professional philosophy, focused on the physical and emotional aspects of healthy aging. She came to understand that engaging in healthy activities throughout the course of one’s life can not only enhance longevity, but increase one’s health span, as well. Since the advent of Wellness Works Group, Joan has utilized her knowledge and skills to help her clients understand the significant role healthy living can play in the overall quality of life. It is her passion to share these resources and tools so that others can enjoy living life to the fullest. In addition to her efforts at Wellness Works Group, Joan is also an active member of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine. She also routinely participates in charity work through WXEL Public Television’s Garnet Society, and received the Women with Wings Award for her passionate labor of love through the organization. Joan also participates in Nourish the Children, a global initiative to end world hunger in our lifetime. As Co-Founder of Wellness Works Group, Dr. Jacqueline Russo utilizes scientific-based research to improve the quality of her patient’s lives. After receiving her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Indiana University, she went on to obtain her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Baylor College of Dentistry. She has also obtained her certification as a nutrition and supplement consultant. In addition, Dr. Russo is the Founder of EnviroMed Design Group – a design company that creates beautiful, efficient and ergonomic dental and medical offices throughout the country. Dr. Russo’s passion is centered on the field of epigenetics, which explores how our DNA interacts with our environment and how we can reset our genes to more youthful activity. Acknowledging the four pillars of health – physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional – Dr. Russo recommends evidence-based therapies for her clients. She finds immeasurable value in optimizing one’s health span, rather than simply prolonging life. Growing older does not mean we are destined to look and feel old, and Dr. Russo applies this philosophy to her practice. In addition to providing her services through Wellness Works Group, Dr. Russo is also the President of the American Academy for Oral Systemic Health and is an active member of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine.
