VILLA OF HOPE, INC., RAIFORD

WHAT IS VILLA OF HOPE? It's hard to sum up in just a few sentences the work we do here at Villa of Hope. That's why we created our agency video. It features real staff and youth sharing their personal journeys.  You can learn a lot about us from our name. And each part of the Villa of Hope name is equally important. While only a portion of our youth actually resides on campus, we provide a home to every young person who comes to us in need. And they find all that they deserve in a home. Acceptance. Love. Support. Comfort. Discipline. The other portion of our name speaks volumes about what we provide, regardless of what troubles bring each person to our door. Whether you or a loved one are struggling against chemical dependency, mental illness or education issues, our dedicated staff of professionals and volunteers provide hope. mission - vision - values MISSION Villa of Hope, an innovative human services organization, renews hope to youth and families, building stronger communities. It was our undertaking then and it is our promise today. We are no longer St. Joseph’s Villa in name, but we remain the same organization in spirit. They knew they had found it when George H. Clark generously gave the Diocese 80 acres of beautiful Greece, New York, farmland. It took time to convert the working farm into a suitable home for children. But on a warm June day in 1942, the Sisters and children clutched their few belongings, joined hands and boarded city buses for an hour long trip to the quiet Dewey Avenue property and the five newly constructed English cottages they would share. Today, this peaceful setting is the main campus of Villa of Hope. It was a humble start with a noble purpose. The Sisters took the children under their wings and into their hearts. They gave them guidance, positive values, a sense of belonging and the confidence to pursue their dreams. Their mission—to help children become happy, responsible, contributing members of the community—continues to guide our work every day.
