VERA CAPITAL and its partners invest in niche residential development projects in Istanbul. Often times we prefer to go in with partners who have vast experience in real estate. The real estate portfolio is capped at 20% of AUM. Ahmet put his 12 years of experience in entrepreneurship, real estate, executive management, and marketing into the investment and private equity markets. He tirelessly looks for and nourish companies that share his vision and enthusiasm about their business futures. He is a certified angel investor, member of the Board of Directors at YILDIZ Holding, and serves as a board member of ÜLKER Bisküvi and several other private companies. He is an avid fan of basketball, admirer of modern art and loves photography. Also, he is actively involved in several Turkish and Global business and finance organizations. Before 2015, Ahmet served as the Vice President of Chocolate Business Unit of YILDIZ Holding and Managing Director of Ülker Çikolata between 2011 and 2015. In 2010, Ahmet was appointed as the CEO/General Manager of Sağlam REIT. He lead the company to merge with SAF RE, owner-developer of Akasya Mall and Residences, in 2012 to form Turkey's largest privately held Real Estate Trust, he was appointed to the board of the new public company: SAFGY. In 2004, he began his career in his first company as the director of the executive board of Hızlı Sistem, a Turkish OEM distributor of Intel, Asus, Logitech, LG etc and a later electronics retailer. Early in 2005 Ahmet acquired the majority shares of Datateknik, a Turkish systems integrator, and created the first end-to-end integrated Turkish ITC group: Datateknik Information Group. In the coming months, the group acquired six companies in the market to strengthen its voyage in becoming Turkey's largest information technology and services company. Datateknik Information Group was restructured to become a subsidiary of Yıldız Holding in 2008 and Ahmet became a member of YILDIZ Holding Board of Directors. In the same year, he served as project leader of the Real Estate Investment Group taking the leadership of design and development of Ülker Sports Arena working with well-known global architecture and design firms, completed in 2012 the project totalled an investment of over $150 Million. Same year he also undertook the role of the CEO of Marinturk Marinas&Boatyards. Ahmet is a graduate of Indiana University and European Business School, London with degrees in Business Administration, and Marketing. He has attended courses in INSEAD and IMD. Murat joined VERA CAPITAL as the Managing Partner in 2015. He is managing partner and member of investment committee at Vera Capital, he focuses on late stage investments, middle market deals and RE investments, also responsible for reviewing underlying strategy and performance. Before Vera, Murat’s business experience spanned over 10 years in investment industry with special emphasis in M&A, Real Estate, corporate restructuring and business development. During his time in Yıldız Holding and GE Capital RE Turkey, he involved with more than 3 billion USD value of investment activity.
