Aaron M. Pimienta is a Managing Member of Venture Capital 500 LLC, a crowdfunding firm that he founded in March 2016. In his role at VC 500 he is responsible for the development and operation of the Company. He has more than sixteen years in leadership positions and over eight years in the securities and investment industry. Mr. Pimienta began his career as a licensed broker at Wells Fargo Advisors Private Client Group in Philadelphia in 2008. Later in 2010, he returned to New York where after working as Vice President of HSBC bank he decided to open a small investment advisory company. In these roles, he managed over 100 million dollars in assets for investors. He continued his role as advisor offering complex financial planning and asset management services until 2014 when he relocated to Jacksonville Florida to attend Law School. Aaron studied International Business at the University of Seville in Spain, and is a graduate of Arcadia University in Glenside Pennsylvania. Currently, in his final semester at Florida Coastal School of Law ( Jim Cataland joined Venture Capital 500 LLC in June 2016 to help the company develop its crowdfunding portal in compliance with the rules and regulations of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). His current position is Co-Manager and Chief Financial Officer. From 1997 to 2017, Mr. Cataland was employed as a Professor of Practical Skills at Florida Coastal School of Law, in Jacksonville, Florida. He began his employment with the law school in January 1997, and from January 1998 through 2001, he served as its Senior Dean for Administration and as a Member of the Board of Directors. He has taught Contracts, Business Associations, Franchise Law, Corporate Governance, Mergers and Acquisitions, Securities Regulation, and a Practical Skills workshop in Entrepreneurial Law. Mr. Cataland began his legal career in Northeast Ohio, specializing in complex business litigation and criminal defense. He was counsel in shopping center and construction litigation in the district courts of Ohio, Kentucky, and Florida. He also served as lead counsel in several high-profile death penalty cases in the Common Pleas Courts of Mahoning County, Ohio. Prior to joining Florida Coastal School of Law, Mr. Cataland served as the Chief Executive Officer of Arthur Treacher’s, Inc., the publicly traded parent company of the Arthur Treacher’s Fish and Chips restaurant chain. He acquired the chain and simultaneously took it public in a series of financial transactions and mergers. He grew the company through several acquisitions and built an international supply system and franchise network. Mr. Cataland has lectured at colleges and universities and has served frequently as an expert witness in franchise related issues. He also served as a Court-Appointed Custodian for the United States District Court in Jacksonville, Florida. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from The Ohio State University and a J.D. degree from The University of Texas School of Law. Arthur Papanastasiou joined Venture Capital 500 LLC in April 2016 as an Owner Member. His current role is to develop and maintain its web site and Crowdfunding Platform, as well as other back end IT functions. With the rise of smartphones and other technology, he became very interested in the highly personal nature of direct response marketing using channels such as mobile devices, email, and the internet.
