VARNER, INC., originally founded by Frank Varner in 1962, has evolved into one of Northern Europe's largest textile companies. The journey began with a successful store on Thorvald Meyersgate in Oslo and quickly expanded to several locations in Norway, leading to the birth of Dressmann stores. Over time, strategic acquisitions bolstered its growth; by 1989, Varner secured ownership of Jonas Øglænd AS, aligning closely related companies under its subsidiary fold. The company grew further through notable acquisitions like Bik Bok and Vivikes, diversifying into markets for men's low-price clothing, families, youth jeans fashion, women's elegant styles, and lifestyle stores with roots in skateboarding and snowboarding cultures. Petter and Marius Varner took the helm in 1995, continuing to expand internationally. Today, VARNER is represented across eight countries, with significant presence in Sweden and Finland.
