In 1974 I entered the Unites States Army and started on my career as a Criminal Investigator. As a Criminal Investigator I was assigned as the Special Agent in Charge of the Camp Howze Branch Office near the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) in Korea. The last 18 months of my military career I was assigned to the Protective Services Detail of the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Division where I provided personal security services the Secretary of Defense, Chairman of the Joint Chief of State and visiting Department of Defense officials. While in the Army I earned a Master of Arts degree in Human Resources Management from Pepperdine University. In 1981 I resigned my commission as a Warrant Officer II and took a Security Analyst position with the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) at the Pentagon. In 2004 upon moving to Florida I established Van Horn Realty, LLC in St Lucie county, concentrating on handling Broker Price Opinion (BPO) and Real Estate Owned (REO) assignments for various financial institutions and asset management companies. I also became a Certified Real Estate instructor. I gradually expanded my area of operation to cover Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee and St lucie counties in order to provide viable services to financial organizations and asset managers in those areas. Currently Van Horn Realty, LLC has one Sales Associate and 3 Administrative Assistants, all dedicated to providing specialized services for handling BPO and REO assignments. I work with buyers and sellers in St Lucie County, Martin County, Indian River County and the surrounding areas and I’ve had extensive training in the latest real estate marketing strategies.
