Nolan has been in the residential and light commercial construction trades and business since 1978. Prior to that working in the trades when not in school. In 1979 he purchased his own construction company, Jarvis Construction, from his previous employer. Jarvis construction did remodeling, new residential homes and erected pre-engineered steel buildings throughout southern NJ. In 1989 Nolan moved to SW Florida, worked for an Arthur Rutenberg franchise building single family homes, moving up to the director of construction and eventually to what they call a BCE “Building Company Executive”. This caused a move to Tampa to run a franchise owned by the same individual. The tenure with this owner and system lasted 10 yrs. In 1999 Nolan went to work for a small company in Naples and worked on several smaller multifamily projects. Ultimately handling the construction of a 44,000 sq. ft. educational facility for them. This project included site development and utilities to the site, all interaction with the architect and owner’s representative and site building contractors. Along with the purchasing and scope development of all subcontracts. In 2005 Nolan joined London Bay Homes, an exclusive home builder in the Naples area as a Sr. Project Manager. While at LBH he helped to develop systems to streamline their construction processes. Oversaw the construction of some of the site development inside one of the Mediterra communities and the construction of as many as 12 multimillion dollar homes at one time. He was then asked to take on the role of Director of Purchasing for two of the three divisions in this company. Handling up to 60 million dollars per year in purchasing. While in Venezuela from 1995 to 2002 Lairet work primarily concentrated on performing nationwide public works projects such as schools, jails, asylums and low income housing for the government while working for the company “Constructora 7 y 11, C.A.” During these years Lairet assisted in estimating, project management, and supervision of crews of 50+ employees per site as well heavy machinery owned by the company. In 2009 Lairet started US Surfaces in the Ft Lauderdale area. This company started as a solid surface fabricator and as the clients requested we expanded our scopes of work we grew to be an interior remodeling firm in Miami-Dade and Broward County. While in Ft Lauderdale Lairet teamed up with multiple investors who were aggressively buying foreclosed properties and rehabbing them for either resale or rental. During the next several years these investor acquire over 1500 properties. These rehabilitations included all scopes of construction ranging from minor structural to all interior finishes. As US Surface grew the need for a state contractor’s license became apparent. Nolan assisted US Surfaces by joining the company to offer this license. As the company continued to grow the joint decision to create a new company US Building Group was reached. Nolan working from the west coast of Florida and Lairet from the east coast of Florida. In 2012 on the west coast US Building Group had approximately 6 employees. The main focus being as subcontractors in the interior framing, drywall, stucco and trim carpentry scopes of work on a wide variety of projects ranging from extremely high end homes in the Naples market to mid and high rise multi-family projects. As of the end of 2016 US Building Group had grown to a team of 57 employees. In addition to the subcontracting work US Building Group also offers Construction Management services to other Contracting firms, this division has managed over $50,000,000.00 in construction over the last two years and continues to project similar growth as the other divisions in the company. .
