Twin City Underwriters Insurance Agency, Roseville, MN Founded in 1968 by Robert Peterson, Twin City Underwriters is an independent insurance agency currently operated by Robert’s son, Tom. As an independent agency, we represent a variety of companies including Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, Medica, Health Partners, Aetna, UCare, Humana, AARP, Midland National and Degree of Honor. Headquartered in Roseville, Minnesota with a satellite office in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, our agents provide professional insurance services throughout the state of Minnesota, western Wisconsin and Florida. I began my career with Twin City Underwriters in June of 2005. Since that time I have seen many changes in the Medicare field including the introduction of Medicare Part D plans. I am a licensed agent in several states and represent many Health Plans both for Medicare and Individual (pre-65) plans. I currently facilitate Blue Cross Blue Shield of MN Community meetings for Medicare plans in Ramsey and Dakota counties. I enjoy meeting clients on a one-on-one basis, helping them with their Medicare and Individual insurance decisions. As our office staff grows I am involved with one-on-one training of new upcoming agents. It is rewarding to help with Seminar and one-on-one mentoring with each of these men and women. What I love about my job is knowing I am able to help someone during an often confusing time in their life with Health Insurance. I like knowing "I made a difference" by helping clients. I have been working with Twin City Underwriters since October of 2009. I am an Independent Broker appointed with several carriers. I have been a licensed Agent since 1986 and have been working with the Medicare population for 28 years. I worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield of MN for 18 years; primarily with the Medicare programs and 4 years as an Account Executive with their subsidiary Pharmacy Gold. I then went to Health Partners and spent about 4 years working on a program for the Medicare population with limited income. During that time I was involved in implementing the Part D program at the plan level. In October 2006 I became a Sales Representative for Humana and conducted Medicare seminars and face to face appointments with prospective clients. Becoming an Independent Broker with Twin City Underwriters has allowed me to work with several Insurance Carriers and give my clients options. I am a licensed Agent in Life and Health in both Minnesota and Wisconsin. My primary role is meeting with clients that are eligible for Medicare and helping them choose a health and Part D plan which best fits their needs. I conduct seminars to educate both clients and prospective clients on Medicare and health plan options. I think I have the best job ever because people are truly thankful after I have worked with them and helped them get enrolled in a program that best fits their needs.
