Turtle Creek Club was chartered in 1969 by four visionary founders from Skokie Illinois who engaged the services of well-respected golf course architect Joe Lee to design and oversee the construction of our 18 hole golf course. Laid out on approximately 150 acres in what was known as the Hunt Club property, the course opened for play in 1970 with 38 members. In 1971, the founders sold the course and club to the membership, making it certain that the club would stay private and not fall into the control of property developers. Over the next 45 years, Turtle Creek Club has become known as one of the finest private golf clubs in Palm Beach and Martin Counties. One hallmark of Turtle Creek Club is continuous improvement. In 2006, the 1986 era clubhouse and dining room were renovated with a new grille room overlooking the 9 green, providing a warm and welcoming place for members to gather. In 2009, the men’s and ladies’ locker rooms, together with the golf shop, and business offices were remodeled and refurbished to complete the updating of the main building.  Earlier, a new and more efficient cart and club storage building was completed replacing the original facility. In 2014, a short game practice area was expanded and improved to complete the practice facilities. In 2016, the entire course was regrassed, including reshaping the greens, tees, fairways and bunkers, along with a modernization to the Irrigation and drainage system. Also, the driving range was extended and widened to accommodate more and better golfers. Now with five sets of tees, from 4998 yards to 7172 yards, the golf course provides an outstanding golfing experience to players of all ages and playing abilities. Under a planned 2016 lengthening and modernization of the course, directed by up and coming architect Kipp Schulties, the experience has been enhanced further for golfers of all levels. He is a graduate of Johnson & Wales University in Providence, RI where he earned an AOS in Culinary Arts and BS in Food Service Management. Doug earned the Certified Club Manager (CCM) designation from Club Managers Association of America (CMAA) in 2011 and is dedicated to the Private Club industry. He is an avid diver and a diehard Green Bay Packer fan.
