Lanny Wiles is the founder and President of TransEuro America (TE-Am). Seeing a need to assist U.S. aerospace and defense companies to achieve greater market share in the dynamic Middle East and international business environment in the most efficient manner, Mr. Wiles formed TE-Am in 2015 for that purpose. He has over thirty years of success working with the legislative and executive branches of the federal government — including White House service, seven national presidential campaigns, acting as a strategist for House of Representatives and United States Senate candidates, four gubernatorial campaigns, Mayor’s races in some of America’s largest cities and numerous national voter initiatives.
Mr. Wiles’ political and campaign experience spans decades, beginning in 1976 when Wiles was one of a small band of Republicans who supported then-Governor Ronald Reagan’s bid to become the GOP Presidential nominee. He later served as a trusted advance and logistics coordinator for the campaign, Reagan/Bush Transition in California and in the Executive Office of the President in the White House. Wiles continued to serve President Reagan in a volunteer capacity for the duration of President Reagan’s two terms. He was appointed by the President to the United States Small Business Advisory Committee where he served one term.
In Florida, he is of counsel to The Advocacy Group, Tallahassee, Florida where he provides strategic counsel regarding matters that come before the executive branch with a special emphasis on transportation and water issues.
Mr. Dave Patterson is a senior Principal at TE-A with business expansion and client support responsibilities. Before joining TE-A, Dave served at significant levels of responsibility in a variety of public and private sector positions.
Mr. Patterson’s US government experience includes serving as Principal Deputy, Under Secretary of Defense (Comptroller). He was directly responsible for advising and assisting with growing, development, execution and oversight of the DoD budget exceeding $515 billion with annual supplemental requests of more than $160 billion as well as developing legislative strategies, and developing and implementing DoD financial policy, financial management systems, and business modernization programs. While at the Defense Department, Patterson was appointed to lead the Defense Acquisition Performance Assessment Project, a comprehensive evaluation of every aspect of the Defense Department acquisition system and decision making processes. Additionally, Mr. Patterson held duties as The Special Assistant to the Deputy Secretary of Defense and was responsible for managing the Deputy Secretary of Defense’s personal staff as well as providing direction and advice to the Office of the Secretary of Defense Staff on a wide range of national security operations and policy subjects.
He has had a broad and successful career in the private sector. Mr. Patterson is the founder and Managing Partner, at Castlebridge Keep, LLC, a business capture and business strategy development firm providing personal, tailored consulting services that are designed to improve clients’ potential for growing their business and capturing greater market share. His clients include Aqua-Chem, Inc. a Knoxville, TN global leader in producing water purification equipment for the US Navy, US ground forces and international government customers; N12 Technologies, Inc. that recently introduced leading edge technology advancement in improving carbon fiber materials; and remains an associate at SM&A, Inc. providing senior level consultative services to top 100 aerospace and defense industry firms.
Mr. Patterson was a founding partner at Bucher, Hutchins, Kohler and Patterson, Inc. where he led the firm’s commercial consulting practice developing management strategies for acquiring new business. From 1999 to 2001, he was the Vice President and Site Manager for Steven Myers and Associates’ support to Lockheed Martin Corporation’s winning Joint Strike Fighter competitive proposal preparation.
Between 1993 and 1999, Mr. Patterson held a variety of responsible, executive positions at McDonnell Douglas Corporation (later The Boeing Company) beginning as the Senior Manager for Market Research and Analysis on the C-17 military air cargo aircraft and later as Director, International Business Development. He was responsible for developing and executing the business capture strategy that won U.S. Government Defense Acquisition Board approval to procure 80 additional C-17s completing the first contract for 120 aircraft.
Mike is a senior manager with over 18 years of leadership and management experience in both a military and commercial industries. He has a proven track record of success with particular acumen in conducting market analysis, building relationships with key stakeholders, and developing and implementing innovative strategies to generate revenue growth. He has operated at the “C” level of government and commercial companies and has engaged “C” level executives in a business development function.
In his most recent commercial role, he was the General Manager for a portfolio company of a private equity firm that designed and manufactured purpose-built, blendable armored vehicles for use by U.S. Special Operations. In this capacity, he managed the day-to-day operations of the business as well as led product marketing and sales initiatives for opportunities both within the U.S. and abroad.
Mike holds a BBA from James Madison University and an MBA from George Washington University. Following graduation from JMU, he was commissioned as an officer in the United States Marine Corps and served as an infantry officer on active duty for ten years. During this time, he held various roles as a leader and Commander of deployed forces. In addition, Mike also served at the Marine Corps’ Office of Legislative Affairs. Currently, Mike serves in the Marine Corps Reserves and assumed command of an infantry battalion in September.
