In addition to being the owner and founder of Toxicology Solutions, LLC, Carol is a forensic analyst with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE). She served as the Technical Leader of the state's Toxicology discipline for over three years. In this role, Carol served as a lead trainer, oversaw all SOP updates and measurement uncertainty (MU) calculations, determined appropriate action to quality issues, prepared the Toxicology laboratory for periodic audits, and reviewed/approved all performance checks and instrument validations. Carol has had a life-long passion of teaching and assisting others, holding numerous jobs as a tutor and serving as a teaching assistant throughout undergraduate and graduate school. Continuing her career in the laboratory, she has spent the last several years training all new toxicology personnel in every aspect of the job from wet laboratory techniques to instrumentation to pharmacology. This enthusiasm to share knowledge was a primary motivation for starting Toxicology Solutions, LLC. Carol Seagle is the owner and founder of Toxicology Solutions, LLC. Her years of experience as a forensic analyst, technical leader, and lead trainer with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) have provided her with an extensive knowledge base regarding the critical needs of toxicology laboratories. Carol has spent years in charge of all technical aspects of a state-wide Toxicology discipline giving her unique and extensive experience planning and conducting instrument validations, reviewing full validations, writing and refining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), establishing and updating measurement uncertainty calculations, and training of laboratory workers. As a certified ASCLD/LAB assessor, Carol is fully equipped to assist with laboratory accreditation preparations. As an FDLE analyst, she also has considerable experience in the courtroom providing expert testimony in a variety of criminal proceedings.
