When his association decided to seek new management, Jeff thought, “I can do that,” and he started a management company in his living room.
At first, he kept his day job in accounting for a Fortune 500 company, but he soon had a large enough portfolio that he could afford to support his wife and two small sons.
As his portfolio swelled to over 90 communities, Jeff realized that his profits were being stifled by the large number of staff he had to keep on board. A lot of his staff were doing repetitive tasks and double entry of data due to the inadequate and disassociated tools they had.
years went by, and Jeff's small sons grew up, surrounded by the community association industry, and the TOPS product. Today, Jeff has retired. But his sons work to continue the legacy their father built. The oldest, Mike Hardy, took over as CEO of TOPS in 2013.
Based on that information, Mike spearheaded the development of a brand new TOPS - one that would once again revolutionize the CAM industry and help to make Management Companies more profitable and more successful at keeping their clients happy.
This new application, TOPS [ONE], is the culmination of 30 years learned under Jeff's wisdom, combined with feedback from hundreds of CAM professionals, driven by the hunger of a son eager to continue his family legacy. We are focused on creating a software that is not only livable, but lovable.

While you may not be legally required to have a website by this July, you should definitely be informed about this law. In general, only a few states in the country have regulated community associations as much as Florida. And, having more associations than nearly all the other states put together, Florida often provides the blueprint for laws that other states follow. In other words, if it isn't in your state now, it may be sooner than you think.
We're really small. Do we still need a website?
The law only specifies that condo associations over 150 units need to comply, so if you're small, you're free to stick with old fashioned notices on a bulletin board for now. Also, timeshare communities are exempt, although I cannot imagine how a timeshare community could conduct business in today's world without an online presence!
