Both Anthony and Gail have conducted numerous sensitive “Due Diligence” inquiries for established clients, on individuals and/or companies. These inquiries have involved the examination and analysis of company reports and records as required by the client and recommendations for further action. Anthony F. Otero worked in the thoroughbred horse racing industry for over 29 years. He also has prior law enforcement experience with the FBI and the New Mexico Organized Crime Prevention Commission. His experience in horse racing includes a career of 26 years working as an Agent for the Thoroughbred Racing Protective Bureau (TRPB). The TRPB is a subsidiary of the Thoroughbred Racing Association (TRA) and serves as its policing and investigative arm. Mr. Otero’s responsibilities as a TRPB Agentincluded the investigation of reports and allegations of wrongdoing in thoroughbred racing industry as they relate to the integrity of the sport. Investigations performed related to violations of administrative regulations, criminal acts, and acts against the best business interests of the TRA client race tracks. Results of investigations were reduced to formal reports for the benefit of track management, state racing authorities, and law enforcement authorities as necessary. Mr. Otero helped plan and coordinate the security and transportation plans for the 1992 and 1999 Breeders’ Cup Races held at Gulfstream Park. This involved the coordination of over 300 law enforcement officials from local, state, and federal agencies, as well as the hiring and supervision of over 300 security officers. It also involved planning with the U.S. Coast Guard, Florida Department of Transportation, and Railroad authorities to coordinate traffic flow, bridge openings, and railroad schedules for the event. Attendance for both of these events exceeded 55,000. Mr. Otero has conducted numerous “Due Diligence” inquiries on individuals and/or companies which are considered sensitive in nature. These inquires have involved the examination and analysis of company reports and records as required by the client and recommendations for further action.
