Founded over a century ago by Vaclav Jule Pekor, Tom Cook Jeweler has been a cornerstone of the Daytona Beach community for more than 100 years. Established initially in Columbus, Georgia, as the Pekor Jewelry Company in 1892, its legacy was carried forward when it became The Pekor/Cook Jewelry Company following the marriage of Vera Juliette Pekor and James Thomas Cook in 1924. After V.J. Pekor's passing in 1931, his son-in-law Tom Cook Sr. purchased the business, transitioning it into what is now known as Tom Cook Jeweler. The company moved to Daytona Beach in 1947 under the leadership of Tom Cook Sr., with James Thomas Cook Jr. joining and eventually taking over operations after Cook Sr.'s retirement in 1965. Continuing a tradition of quality service established by Pekor, Tom Cook Jeweler remains family-owned, now managed by Sheryl Cook, President, and Vicki Leonhardt as Secretary. The great-granddaughters of V.J. Pekor and third-generation members, both graduates of Agnes Scott College, uphold the business's commitment to excellence. With Ashley Leonhardt Lee’s entry into the company in 2005, her becoming Vice President of Sales and Marketing marked the fifth generation involved with Tom Cook Jeweler.
