Timberlake Cabinetry is Green Approved
Timberlake kitchen and bath cabinetry was the first cabinetry product to be Green Approved by the NAHB Research Center as part of the NAHB Research Center National Green Building Certification. We’ll provide you with three points for kitchen and bath vanity cabinets for your compliance with CARB indoor air quality requirements. To be awarded these points, 85 percent of the kitchen and bath vanity cabinets installed must be Timberlake.

Timberlake Builds ESP-Certified Cabinets
Timberlake cabinets are both ESP-certified and promoted by KCMA, bearing the KCMA ESP seal. In the ESP self-certification process, Timberlake cabinets scored the maximum amount of points in four out of five categories, with a total score of 100 points (out of a potential 105 points).

Meeting acceptable levels of formaldehyde emissions
, or CARB, implemented regulations on formaldehyde emissions from composite wood products sold or used in finished goods in California. All particleboard, medium density fiberboard, thin MDF, hardwood plywood with a veneer core, and hardwood plywood with a composite core are now regulated under the “CARB rule.”
This mandate requires cabinet manufacturers and other fabricators to use materials only from manufacturers certified by a CARB-approved third-party certifier and to provide documentation of that use.

According to the CPA, fabricators or companies such as Timberlake, which manufacture products made with composite wood panels for the California market, must adhere to these specific CARB mandates:
Use composites that comply with the emission and certification requirements of the rule
Label every product or product box with a stamp, tag, sticker or bar code that includes the fabricator’s name, product date and compliance standard
Keep records for at least two years showing the dates of composite purchases and to whom finished products were sold
Include a compliance statement on bills of lading or invoices as a record of the sale of compliant products
