Thorsen graduated from Florida State University in 1967 where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the School of Business with a Major in Accounting. From 1968-1971 Mr. Thorsen served on the audit staff of Deloitte & Touche, LLP (formerly Haskins & Sells) as a Senior Accountant, In 1971 he joined Imperial Industries, Inc. as its chief financial officer and a member of its Board of Directors a positions he held until 1975 when he formed his own CPA firm specializing in accounting, auditing, management and financial advisory services, income taxes, and litigation support services including forensic accounting service and fraud investigation. Investigative consultant to the Florida State Board of Accountancy, Department of Business, and Professional Regulations Ana Maria Crucet is a licensed certified public accountant in the state of Florida having passed the CPA exam in a single sitting and receiving her certificate on April 29, 1993. Ms. Crucet graduated, Magna Cum Laude, on September 15, 1991 from Barry University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, with a major in accounting. She has been a member in good standing of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants since June 7, 1993 and of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants since July 31, 1993. Ana has been in the accounting field since 1977 initially as a full charge bookkeeper until October 1980 for various small businesses. She then joined the firm of John Phillips Thorsen, P.A. as a junior accountant, advancing to senior accountant, manager and then effective January 1, 2007 became a partner and shareholder in the firm Thorsen and Crucet, P.A. Ana is in charge of the financial reporting, and income tax services practice section of the firm as well as its quality control system and peer review. Accordingly Ana is in charge of the firm's audits, reviews, compilations, tax planning and preparation including individual, partnership, corporate, estate, gift, and profit sharing plans. Ana has also assisted Mr. Thorsen in numerous litigation matters including but not limited to Business Litigation, Damages, and Lost Profits Calculations. Barbara Hernandez is a successful Certified Public Accountant and entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience in the field of public accounting. Barbara has owned and managed her own public accounting firm, Barbara Hernandez, P.A., since 1999. Barbara holds a Bachelor's and a Master's Degree in Accounting and has been a member of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants since 1993. Barbara was born in Cuba, raised and educated in Miami, Florida and is fluent in English and Spanish. Barbara started her career in the field of accounting by working for a small private accounting firm while attending Saint Thomas University. When Barbara completed her studies at Saint Thomas in, she joined the public accounting firms of John Phillips Thorsen, P.A. and Richard A. Sinnes, P.A. as a staff accountant in 1988. While working for these two firms, Barbara continued with her studies and earned a Masters Degree in Accounting from Florida International University and became a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Florida. In 2007, Ana M. Crucet, CPA, the managing senior accountant for the firm of John Phillips Thorsen, P.A. who had been with the firm since 1980, was named a partner and thus the firm of Thorsen and Crucet, P.A. was formed. Barbara continues to have a strong bond and close professional relationship with the firm of Thorsen and Crucet, P.A. These two firms continue to share their resources, skills, knowledge, and experience to service the clients of both firms in the areas of accounting, auditing, and taxes. Maria joined the public accounting firm of John Phillips Thorsen, P.A. as a junior staff accountant in 1988. She pursued her studies and became a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Florida in 1990. During the next 22 years, she continued to develop and hone her skills, knowledge, and experience in the areas of accounting, taxes, and auditing and progressed to the position of senior accountant with an emphasis in the audit and tax preparation functions of the firm. The CPA firm of Thorsen and Crucet, P.A. and its predecessor has been providing public accounting services to numerous satisfied clients in the South Florida area for nearly 40 years.
