Branding created for a geotechnical engineering firm. The logomark is one smooth-flowing object that ends in a point that goes through the bottom of the mark, signifying going through the ground and alluding to the drilling and coring work of the firm. The text is very organic and alludes to the organic and geologic nature of the work. Branding created for a geotechnical engineering firm. The text is very organic and alludes to the organic and geologic nature of the work. The project included a website overhaul and redesign to help them stand out amongst their competitors. The design is very clean and dynamic with heavy emphasis on powerful product imagery and video, as well as various interactive details and features, which make the site more engaging, such as a fun and educational “Did You Know?” pop-up window on the home page. The main focus of the client was not only the product visuals but also to emphasize that their machines are made in the USA, so every header features a watermarked stamp highlighting this a selling point. The logo references the umbrella parent company, but with its own twist and colour palette. The logo mark represents a shield comprised of the C and G letters, the G alluding abstractly to both an excavator and an arrow pointing upwards. A heavy serif font was used for the company name logotype to contrast with a heavy sans serif font for the subtitle to also reinforce the strength of the shield mark and the overall impression of reliability in the firm. The logo is also the main focal point for the website design, oversized to emphasize strength and stability. The aesthetic of the website is modern and heavily visually-oriented, with large photos for a better user experience.
