Our Philosophy
Founded February 12th, 2013, The Minnie Aikens Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) organization, exists to assist in removing the financial barrier that prevents students from attending college, by providing financial assistance to prospective college students through scholarship awards. The scholarships will be awarded to prospective students from rural communities that demonstrate a need for financial assistance in higher education.
Named after a life long teacher and educator, the Minnie Aikens Foundation and staff recognizes the cost associated with higher education, and how those costs discourage students and limit their opportunities. The goal of the foundation is to replace discouragement with enthusiasm in high school graduates so students can reach their full potential.
