Lawrence Group was founded as an architecture company in 1983 by a trio of young design school graduates of "KU," The University of Kansas at Lawrence, Kansas (and thus the name, Lawrence Group.) Steve Smith, David Ohlemeyer and Paul Doerner established Lawrence Group with the goal of becoming a design-and-construction industry "super-firm." The addition of interior design services headed by Linda Loewenstein in 1984 was their next step towards realizing that goal. Today, the company has over 160 employees in four offices: Austin, Texas; Charlotte, North Carolina; New York, New York and its corporate headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri. In addition to our founding partners, Lawrence Group’s leadership team consists of company shareholders with a diverse range of expertise in multiple markets across the U.S. We're Lawrence Group.
