To this end, all programs at The Language Company are grounded in pedagogically sound principles of second language acquisition and the development of academic literacy in English as a second language. These principles are infused into all classes across all levels and all language domains of listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Programs at each TLC center support our larger Mission Statement in addressing the needs of all students and support the broader curriculum parameters of The Language Company as a whole while maintaining the individual requirements of each host university or cooperative institution.  The Language Company also values accreditation of all of our centers and the maintenance of that accreditation with ACCET Ensure a strong financial foundation for the company. ACCET was founded in 1974 for the purpose of improving continuing education and training and has been officially recognized by the U.S. Department of Education since 1978 as a “reliable authority” as to the quality of education and training provided by the institutions we accredit. Accreditation serves the interests of companies, agencies, and the public through the establishment of standards, policies, and procedures in conjunction with an objective third-party professional evaluation designed to identify and inspire sound education and training practices. EnglishUSA is the only organization in the United States that includes all types of intensive English programs (IEPs). With a membership of over 470 accredited IEPs, we are the largest membership organization specifically serving and supporting IEPs in the United States. We support the professional development of IEP leaders and staff, uphold professional standards for IEPs, and increase the visibility of IEPs in the USA. Since its inception in 1948, NAFSA has been engaged in setting standards and encouraging ethical conduct among individuals, institutions, and organizations active in the field of international education and exchange.
