THE GLAM PAD LLC, Miami Lakes

My passion for beautiful homes began at an early age. While most teenagers were busy reading Seventeen magazine, I was pouring over luxury real estate featured in Unique Homes magazine. Thank goodness now we have Zillow! After graduating from Southern Methodist University, I pursued a 14-year career in marketing and public relations. Today, I am a full-time mom and interior design blogger. I created The Glam Pad as an outlet for my passion for design, and also to connect with other like-minded individuals. From interiors to fashion, I am a firm believer in timeless, elegant style… with a dose of glamour and Palm Beach whimsy! A Turner Classic Movies addict, I am inspired by the elegance depicted in old movies from the 1930s through 1960s. I am passionate about historic preservation, antiques, and “old-fashioned” traditions such as needlepoint and handwritten letters. A seventh generation Texan, I currently reside in the Sunshine State with my husband, son, and two dogs. Thank you for following, and enjoy your visit to The Glam Pad! (who also happen to be two of my all-time favorites) and their influence clearly helped shape his extraordinary aesthetic. Alabama born, Manhattan-based Langham has been a force in the decorating world for over 25 years. He studied at Parsons School of Design and earned a degree from The Fashion Institute of Technology in interior design. After an apprenticeship under Mark Hampton, he moved to London and enrolled in the Study Center for the History of Fine and Decorative Arts where he broadened his knowledge of English design and decoration. Returning to New York, he landed a position with the venerable firm, Irvine & Fleming and gained 10 years of experience in their American version of luxe English country house style. Langham launched his own business in 1994 and quickly made a splash. He worked with some of the city’s most legendary ladies – Mrs. William F. Buckley, Jr. and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, who once proclaimed him to have a “sorcerer’s eye” for design. Decorating with Staffordshire dogs is a timeless design trend that has been popular since the 18th century, and lately I have been seeing these prim and proper pups making a grand resurgence. The Staffordshire spaniel, which has been in production since the 1720s, became the quintessential Victorian status symbol in England and Scotland. No mantelpiece was complete without a pair of spaniels standing guard. Many other breeds were produced, such as greyhounds, poodles, dalmatians, and pugs, but the spaniels were especially popular as royalty favored the King Charles Spaniel breed. Today, original Staffordshire dogs are collectors’ items, but there are some lovely reproductions available as well. Of course they still appear perfectly poised upon any well appointed mantle, but they are also charming on a bookshelf, as wall decor, on a vanity table, in the kitchen, or as part of a beautiful tablescape! Let’s take a look at some images I collected via Based in Palm Beach Florida, Scott Snyder is one of my favorite designers. Named as one of Architectural Digest's top 100 designers (AD100), Snyder masterfully combines classical decor with a generous infusion of color and a dash of whimsy. I have previously featured his work here, here, here, and here... Today we are touring a beautiful Boston apartment he designed with his delightful ... Easter is one of my favorite holidays, and it also provides a fun opportunity to decorate. Pretty pastels, adorable bunnies and sheep, spring flowers, and bountiful baskets full of yummy candy... what's not to love? Below are some lovely inspirational images... how do you decorate for ... January's focus at The Glam Pad was anti-trends... timeless, classic elements of interior design. One question that generated a lively discussion was how can a classic become a "trend" and subsequently go "out of style?" Today let's ponder the classic Jasperware, created by England's Josiah Wedgwood in the 18th century. Recently Laurie Byrne, The Preppy Paper Girl, and Cynthia Nouris of Sasha ... Shop The Glam Pad
