The Bridge Sarasota was founded by Lynne Hartshorn and a small group of homeschool parents in 2012. The Bridge received its official non-profit status in 2014. The Bridge is a non-profit, á la carte, home school educational program which strives to support families as we encourage each other in our life journey. We provide a variety of classes for your high school student embodying the highest standards for home education in a Christ honoring environment, while choosing the best in Christian based and Biblically rooted curriculum. We strive to give students access to a variety of core and elective classes with the goal of academic excellence and spiritual growth, while supporting parents as they walk the home education path. The Bridge Sarasota is a non-profit/non-traditional private umbrella school offering assistance, support, encouragement and monthly opportunities for homeschoolers and their families in Sarasota and Manatee counties. It was created through the growing educational needs of families like yours in our community. Education is changing and The Bridge offers a unique option for home educated and parent directed education. Our number one goal is to come alongside families in the spirit of love and encouragement. We believe we have followed God’s prompting to connect families through classes, field trips and social gatherings. Cooking, Drama, HOPE, Spanish, American History and Biology are our class offerings during the 2017/2018 school year. We are currently planning for the 2018/2019 session. We partner with area homeschool groups to keep families informed of the numerous opportunities our community has to offer. We do this through our website, Facebook page (The Bridge Sarasota), and also our mailing list. Heather has had a passion for homeschooling ever since the Lord’s instructions for her to homeschool her children even before she was married and had children of her own. She loves to teach and pour out to the next generation. Her desire is to help be a part of raising up and equipping this next generation to be godly powerful ambassadors for Christ in these end times.
