The After School Scholar Welcome to The After School Scholar! We absolutely love helping young minds reach their full potential. The After School Scholar was started by Theresa McMeen, an Educator with over 20 years experience teaching young minds. She decided to give parents one less thing to do at the end of their day and help provide more quality family time, which is so important to all of us, by ensuring that students' school work is done. Welcome To The After School Scholar The After School Scholar is an academic advancement center for grades Kindergarten through Fifth. We are focused on providing a fun and caring environment after school that ensures your child's homework is completed and checked before the 6:00 pick up time. We make sure that your child has the apps on their iPad for the programs that have been assigned by their teacher and they utilize the programs for 30 minutes daily to support learning (i-Pads are used strickly for educational programs). Our trained tutors are ready to work with your child right after school is dismissed and will give them the time and attention needed to nurture their unique style and accomplish learning goals. Each afternoon, we begin by having a snack and organizing planners and assignments. We then tackle the day’s homework assignments and if there’s extra time, we wrap up with reading and educational activity centers. Parents and teachers help us target each student’s particular learning needs. Your child learns while they are still fresh and can stay with us until the 6:30 pick up time or leave earlier.
