Thai This or Try That is a Thai mobile food truck that serves the greater Tampa Bay area. Before serving his mother's recipes, Chef Kiku Irvin proudly committed 24 year’s active duty service to his country. After retirement from the Armed Services he attended The Arts Institute of Tampa and graduated with a degree in Culinary Arts. He also holds a Logistics and a Management Degree. His lifelong dream of becoming a fine dining chef never made it to fruition but he found the next best thing and that was owning his own food truck. The business is family owned and operated with his sister Nora as the Sous Chef and his wife Tia as the CEOH (Chief Executive of Him). Also, an added addition to the family team  is the chef's culinary school classmate Chef Mathis. Our recipes are made from the best quality ingredients. Local and sustainable is our goal! THAI THIS OR TRY THAT The foundation of our menu begins with my mom’s own recipes. In her home country of Thailand where she was raised, she had the ultimate experience of watching and learning how to cook from her parents who owned and operated a family food cart business in their small village. The tradition of selling food off street carts in Thailand is very popular, even until this day. With my twist to our menu, I added a "Try That" menu which will consist of daily specials. The concept of my "Try That" specialties menu will offer different foods from my travels around the world, both while on active duty and as a dependent of an active duty parent. I want you to enjoy food that I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing and if you've had the opportunity to visit these countries or are from there, I hope you’ll enjoy them too!
