Welcome to Temple Beth Am, a warm and inclusive Jewish community nestled in Miami at 5950 N. Kendall Drive. Founded in September 1979, our mission is to build engagement and accessibility in Judaism for everyone, making sure there's no barrier left unchallenged.
We're led by Rabbi Alon, who champions innovative multigenerational programs that bring fresh energy to our diverse community. Complementing him is Rabbinic Intern Brett, whose pastoral work blends beautifully with his talent as Music Director. It's been an inspiring journey for him since he joined us recently. Another cornerstone of our team is Carol Kagan, a dedicated member since August 1997. Her journey through breast cancer inspires her advocacy for kindness in daily life-a testament worth sharing within our school staff and larger Temple community as she balances commitments at TBA with caring for Mac, Callie, Colbie, and her other loved ones.
Education holds a special place here. Alissa Frankel, our Director of Education, combines her rich background in social work with an unwavering commitment to nurturing youth growth. Our culinary expertise comes from Chef Eric, whose remarkable journey began well before his official title-bringing over ten years of passion since relocating from Boston.
Danna, a Floridian by choice for more than ten years now, dives deep into our local culture while infusing Jewish love in all she does at TBA. She's been part of this joyous community since June 2015. Margot Baseman joins the picture with her administrative prowess gained from over fifteen years here and family devotion, making weekly commutes from Wellington.
Our volunteer spirit shines brightly through Debbie Baseman. With a steadfast dedication starting in 1994, she's worn many hats-ranging from leadership roles on our Board of Directors to teaching Hebrew Classes and providing invaluable office assistance. Her nineteen-year journey as Religious School Director is a testament to her commitment to education that embraces holistic principles.
At Temple Beth Am, we live by 'Kulanu' or 'All of Us Together.' This philosophy colors every aspect of our educational offerings and community initiatives. Our communication lines are always open for any inquiries, with our team committed to responding within a week-just reach out!
Our story has seen growth over time, evidenced by our latest updates like a document amendment on June 26, 1990, and the submission of our most recent annual report on April 29, 2024. We remain active and present in Miami-Dade County and can be reached at (561) 747-1109 or through our website at templebetham.com.
Our leadership team includes luminaries like Richard Siegel as President Director, Shelley Jacoby as Executive President Director, and Jason Haim serving as Treasurer, along with a dedicated board ensuring we stay true to our mission.
