To our family CHD Awareness means educating people, letting people know that so many different heart defects exist and how common they truly are. We also believe that a large part of awareness is hearing about the successes of other children and especially adults who have battled CHD and beaten the odds stacked against them. The last and very important piece of CHD Awareness is helping to get research funded. Huge strides have been made in changing some of the harsh statistics surrounding CHD’s in the recent past and we can only imagine the amazing research yet to come to prolong the lives of those impacted by a congenital heart defect.
