The Company he namesake of the company is due to the combined names of their two Jack Russell Terriers (or perhaps one would say Terrors!). Their first Jack Russell was Tika. She lived a long and happy life to the age of sixteen. When she passed away an emptiness was felt, as is common with the loss of a loved one (which includes pets). Judi saw a picture of another Jack on a website for a shelter in Mobile, AL. She and Kevin went to Alabama, adopted her and named her Tara. She quickly became an adored member of the family. So when they formed their company it was only natural for them to name it after those two crazy dogs, and thus TaraTika was formed. TaraTike Enterprises was founded by Judi and Kevin Hogan and focuses on developing and manufacturing unique sporting accessories that allow you to concentrate on your game and not worry about the equipment you use to play it. Simplicity and functionality is at the heart of TaraTika designs. Our Golf Ball Hawk, our flagship product, is known and used in circles from the weekend golfer to the golf pro, both domestically and internationally. Kevin Hogan was an Army brat. His family lived all over Europe and the United States while he was growing up. Then in 1965 they settled in Northern Virginia. Kevin graduated from West Springfield High School in 1971. He joined the Army in 1973. His MOS was Guidance & Control Repair for Pershing Nuclear Missile Systems. He was stationed over in Germany until 1976 when he returned to the U.S. and became an instructor at Red Stone Arsenal. In 1977 he became a civilian again and resumed the career in concrete construction that he had started in high school. During this time he went from worker, to supervisor, to owner of his own company. He was also a volunteer firefighter from the time he was old enough in Virginia to join. He continued this service while living in the St. Petersburg, Fl. area. He moved to California shortly thereafter and became a Superintendent for a contractor doing civilian and government contracts. He sustained a serious injury while on the job and could no longer work construction, so he decided to become a nurse instead. He received his Associates Degree for LVN nursing and returned to Florida, this time to Pensacola where he worked for West Florida Hospital from 2003 to 2011. He now works for the Government again, only this time as nurse in the VA Clinic. It’s his way to help those who have served their country, and of course he is part of that group. At TaraTika Enterprises LLC he is the idea maker and the innovator. He’s happiest when he is working a new project! Judi Hogan spent most of her growing up years in Northern Virginia. She graduated from Groveton High School in 1972. There after she went to College in Danville, Va at Averett University. She received an Associates Degree in Equestrian Studies, then she received a BS Degree in Business Management and another BS Degree in Psychology. For fourteen years she taught adult education in Halifax County Virginia. She had her own trailer that they moved to a different industry every three months. The drop out rate was nearly 40% in that county so she was working to give them an opportunity to acquire their GEDs. Judi left Virginia in 1997 and moved to Gaylord, Michigan. She first found a job at Ben Franklin Crafts. There she brushed up on her sewing skills, making handmade jointed teddy bears. She also learned many new crafting techniques which she employs in her little works of art still. Judi also taught college classes for Michigan State as an adjunct professor. Then she started working for a family run business called Jay’s Sporting Goods. It was a Dream Job! They SOLD fun and we HAD fun. She was there for five years before Kevin caught up with her 33 years after they had last seen each other as kids. At this time, Judi moved to Florida and married Kevin. While in Pensacola Judi was the Assistant Manager for Marvin’s Hardware for 6 years and now a manager for Sears for the last five years. Within TaraTika Enterprises LLC, Judi is the manager of all organization. She says, “It’s nice knowing that I’m doing something that will become more than I could have ever hoped.” TaraTika Enterprises places an emphasis on complete support of our distribution channels.
