I understand and value the time spent from conception of a sound to the finished recording project.   There are many obstacles along the way to the final master.  To me the ultimate compliment of the work is to have it archived on vinyl.   The tangible artifact that makes it all the more real.   At my level,  it doesn't make any sense to spend a couple thousand dollars to press a couple hundred LPs.   Looking at a stack of unsold vinyl is not a confidence builder.  I started Tangible Formats in 2011 because  it was a service I wished existed at the time.   The main purpose is to provide archival, keepsake, and gift services for independent musicians and their supporters.   Thank you for checking out my site.  -  Direct Cut Records are ideal for vinyl one offs, juke box 7"s, dub cuts, and archival purposes.  These are the highest quality lathe cut vinyl records possible.  The audio is cut in stereo into a blank vinyl disc.  The process is similar to vinyl mastering, except this step is repeated over and over to reach the desired amount of records.  If an audio project is 15 minutes long then each record will take at least 15 minutes to cut.  That’s not including preparation time.  The biggest factor in the price for direct vinyl cuts is the time it takes to cut each record.   This is the service that Tangible Formats provides.   Tangible Formats was trained in the "Swabian Method" of record cutting.  That means we use the highest quality German equipment and materials.  All audio is cut in stereo using select South African Diamonds with unmatched clarity.  These one off records are superior in quality to the infamous mono "lathe cuts".  Our lathe cuts have even been tested to have less surface noise compared to some pressed Tangible Formats lathe cuts custom vinyl records for anyone in need of small quantities.  There is no minimum order.  Your audio is cut  in stereo directly into blank virgin vinyl.  The discs are specially formulated to resemble the durability, look, and sound of pressed vinyl.   Cutting since 2011.
