The Tampa Bay Skating Club, Inc. (TBSC) is a non-profit organization established in 1987 with the mission of promoting the instruction, education, practice, and advancement of its members in figure skating. The club fosters camaraderie among skaters by sponsoring and organizing amateur competitions, seminars, and ice shows while adhering to the rules, policies, and objectives set forth by United States Figure Skating (USFS). TBSC initially gained prominence by moving into its primary home at the Tampa Bay Skating Academy (TBSA) in Oldsmar in 1992. It has since expanded its presence across multiple locations including Westfield Shopping Town-Countryside in Clearwater and the Ice Sports Forum in Brandon. The club takes pride in its competitive achievements, with widespread representation at regional, sectional, and national junior and senior championships. Notably, TBSC is home to Florida’s first USFS Synchronized Skating Team, the Florida Sunsations. The club encourages active participation by inviting each board member to chair or volunteer for various committees.
