As a student in a Christian College, we believe that each of us, as a matter of a good testimony before men (I Timothy 3:7), should adhere to a high standard of behavior. Each individual should remember that the Bible holds each of us accountable for our own actions (Romans 14:12). A student, whose personal conduct is a poor testimony for Christ or fails to live in accordance with the scriptural ideals of the institution, will be spiritually counseled and disciplined by the Dean. The college reserves the right to refuse admission, to put on disciplinary probation, for personal conduct is not consistent with the Christian spirit and standards of the college (see also academic termination).
Modesty, femininity and good taste are the guiding principles of women’s dress at Tampa Bay Bible College. Women shall wear dresses, skirts, or slacks with sweaters or blouses to class. No low cut necklines or dresses with slits above the knee or jeans are permitted.
When an individual is unable to attend the main campus or a satellite campus or residential program, they are to complete correspondent coursework with course books or online course material. Both educational methods offer a unique off-campus study approach. It is a combination of the traditional and independent study methods that provide educational goals for the individual.
Students are expected to attend all classes for the course(s) in which they are enrolled. A maximum of two unexcused absences per course, per semester are permitted. The instructor for each course is granted discretion as to whether to penalize students with unexcused absences by requiring extra make-up assignments, lowering the course grade, or not granting credit for the course. Students failing to maintain satisfactory attendance will be counseled by the Dean or Dean of Student Affairs and an attempt will be made to solve the problem. Continued unsatisfactory attendance will be sufficient grounds for dismissal from the college. Readmission may be permitted if the student can show the Dean or Dean of Student Affairs that the problem has been resolved.
Each student will be required to sign a statement of agreement during the admission process to Tampa Bay Bible College. They must read this section of the catalog, entitled “Student Code of Conduct” and the college’s “Statement of Belief.”
