As the Founder of Tamiqa’s House, it is her mission to provide under-serviced and displaced teens the opportunity to participate in creative arts as a leeway to providing them with the basic necessities all teens need, nourishment, clothing and the support of those that believe in their abilities and work toward their success. The mother of 4 surviving children, she enjoys the comradery of her large family. serves at the Treasurer of Tamiqa’s House. The owner and operator of a successful business for over 15 years, Michelle brings a solid understanding of the financial aspect needed to sustain Tamiqa’s House and provide services. As a mother of four (plus their friends), she is an avid cheerleader and advocate for children, especially for those in need. Michelle is known as a social networking expert who will get the people needed to get the job done. board member and brings a wealth of experience as a former Family Navigation Specialist for the Dept of Juvenile Justice in Syracuse. Currently Rachel is making a difference in the lives of middle and elementary school students as a counselor/support specialist for the Syracuse city school district. The mother of  two, Rachel lost her oldest son, Joseph, in 2005 and she immediately turned her grief into action as an advocate for under-serviced children, teens and their families. Rachel also practices and educates others in the proc Tamiqa loved Sunflower Seeds and was known to do just about anything for "a bag of seeds" and ate them daily. In honor of her love for sunflower seeds, and in honor of their love for Tamiqa, 26 very special people have joined together to cultivate the seeds of the mission and ensure the vision blooms.
