Tamiqa's House, Inc., incorporated in Florida on September 11, 2014, is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting under-serviced and displaced teens. It provides these young individuals with opportunities to engage in creative arts as alternatives for fulfillment, while also ensuring they have the basic necessities such as nourishment and clothing. The mission of Tamiqa's House stems from its compassionate founder who envisions a supportive environment that empowers teens to succeed. Belinda Strachan serves as the President, alongside Angel Anderson as Secretary, and Michelle Pavao fulfilling the role of Treasurer. Michelle Pavao brings over 15 years of business acumen crucial for sustaining Tamiqa's House financially and ensuring service delivery. She also leverages her social networking expertise to mobilize resources essential for achieving organizational goals. Rachel, another key board member, contributes invaluable experience from her previous work as a Family Navigation Specialist and current role in the Syracuse city school district, dedicated to supporting children and teens. Tamiqa's House is rooted deeply in personal narratives of resilience and commitment. It was inspired by Tamiqa’s love for sunflower seeds; an affection shared among 26 individuals who came together post-tremendous loss, aiming to cultivate a legacy that honors these values. Located at 933 SW JASLO AVENUE, PORT ST. LUCIE, FL, with its status reinstated on October 19, 2015, the organization continues to thrive while adhering firmly to its mission statement and objectives as reflected in their filings and reports.
