His love affair with wine began during travels across renowned wine regions such as Napa and Sonoma alongside Melissa McAvoy. Their joint vision to open a boutique wine space led them to choose a location in the Sodo area of Orlando, setting the stage for SWIRLERY's foundation. Melissa J. McAvoy, a local resident since 1998 with roots in New Jersey, has built her career with significant experience in the hospitality industry and wine studies. Her tenure at Walt Disney World’s Citricos restaurant and induction into the Court of Master Sommeliers set a robust groundwork for promoting SWIRLERY's sophisticated wine offerings. As an active community mentor and promoter alongside Damian, she ensures that Swirlery serves as not only a retail space but also an educational hub.
