Swift Fuels is a global leader in the development of high-performance unleaded aviation fuels. This includes UL102, an unleaded 102 Motor octane aviation gasoline that meets ASTM D7719 and a 94 Motor octane aviation gasoline that meets ASTM D7547,
In addition, Swift has developed SwiftJet, a renewable jet fuel being evaluated by the FAA's Continuous Lower Energy, Emissions, and Noise (CLEEN) program.
Swift Fuels looks forward to a day when lead will be permanently removed from piston-engine aircraft through the roll-out of Swift’s environmentally friendly, high-performance unleaded aviation gasolines.

The original Swift research team began conducting chemical research in 2005 via laboratory tests and computer modeling seeking to find a fully renewable pathway to aviation fuels. In 2008, a binary fuel called 100SF, to be made from renewable/biomass components, was found to have many desirable piston-engine performance properties that could possibly be used to replace tetraethyllead in aviation gasoline. By 2011, Swift had joined ASTM International and published initial research on the renewable test fuel. In March 2012, the prior business owners sold their assets and intellectual property to a newly formed company called Swift Fuels, LLC.
Collaborations were opened with Purdue University and a team of independent experts to further the science of the fuels in several critical areas. The new company took proactive steps to re-test the formulations and ultimately reengineered the critical aspects of the technical platform to become petroleum-based (i.e. more commercially viable) and redeveloped the fuel formulations to address a more holistic fleetwide fuel solution. In November 2013, Swift’s fuel task force received unanimous approval from ASTM International for the first high-octane UNLEADED aviation gasoline production specification in the world. Swift continues to demonstrate its leadership in the aviation gasoline marketplace with our high-octane aviation gasoline in the final phase of the co-led FAA/Industry team called the Piston Aviation Fuel Initiative, or PAFI – charged by Congress to evaluate the fuel candidates for replacing tetraethyllead in 100LL aviation gasoline. The PAFI program is expected to finalize its evaluation and testing program for US piston-engine fleetwide approval by the end of 2018.

Swift Fuels' base of operations in Europe
To ensure the worldwide acceptance and use of SwiftFuel, Swift has taken the very important step of establishing a subsidiary in Europe. This has been an ongoing process since late 2010. In January 2011, Swift Fuel GmbH was established as a registered company in Germany.
On February 26, 2011, a Letter of Cooperation was endorsed between Swift Enterprises and Swift Fuel GmbH in Saarbrücken, Germany. Swift Fuel GmbH has hit the ground running by working with Solution Air GmbH, an established aviation service and maintenance company, based at Flughafen Zweibrücken. Solution Air GmbH is preparing aircraft, such as a B60 Beechcraft Duke, for flight testing of SwiftFuel according to EASA rules. The B60 is one of the most challenging platforms for an alternative aviation gasoline because of the high octane need of the engines.
In December 2012, Swift Fuels LLC announced the acquisition of a 50 percent stake in Swift Fuel GmbH. This transaction allows Swift Fuel GmbH to license the intellectual property and technical expertise, including 100SF aviation gasoline targeted for general aviation aircraft, from Swift Fuels LLC. The business deal will allow Swift Fuel GmbH to develop and sell high-performance fuels, additives, and specialty chemicals across Europe.
