This program provides living skills, leadership training, mentoring, and resources to youth in the Volunteers of America transitional living programs. Swanson Rink has been an active member of this organization for over 10 years. In addition to founding the ‘Superior Standards’ Scholarship Fund for the youth, Swanson Rink staff members volunteer at the BYC’s Life Skills Classes, which have included everything from interview prep to teaching yoga and cooking classes. Finally, Swanson Rink holds an annual Olympics event to raise funds for the ‘Superior Standards’ scholarship. Read about our most recent Olympics event Swanson Rink employees have also joined the Support Sky Harbor Clean Up volunteer group in Phoenix, AZ. Swanson Rink has done work at Sky Harbor in the past, and this is a great way to help the communities around the Sky Harbor Airport. Twice a year, an area near the airport is selected for cleanup, and a crew of 300 to 400 volunteers within the construction industry participate at this event. It is a dirty job, but it is a great opportunity to give back and meet area locals, as well as network with people within the construction industry. Swanson Rink would like to recognize the Support Sky Harbor group for a well-organized and productive community effort.
