Svelte Yoga is based out of Tallahassee, Florida and was founded by E-RYT®200hr certified & insured yoga instructor, Stephanie Cimmino. The “E” of E-RYT200 means Stephanie has accumulated over 1000 hours of teaching and has been certified since 2014. Stephanie started the lengthy process of obtaining the RYT®500hr designation in January 2016 by resuming studying at Many Rivers YTT for their 300hr program. in 2014. Throughout the course of 9 months and 200 hours, Stephanie was trained to teach many different styles of yoga such as; Ashtanga, Intro, Flow, Yin, & Hot. The yoga teachers in training also learned about the anatomy of the human body and how yoga affects each part. Pranayama (breath work techniques) is one of Stephanie’s favorite tools she gained from teacher training because it allows the client to truly relax, focus on the breath and utilize this as a functional coping mechanism for stress. The students were also taught the value of guided meditation and Yoga Nidra (a type of meditation that brings the client to a state so relaxed and tuned out to the world that they fall into a meditative sleep state.) Being that the nature of yoga isn’t solely based on the physical asanas (or poses), Stephanie also learned about Yogic Philosophy according to the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, which includes the Yamas & the Niyamas and the importance of living a life that does no harm to others. Stephanie stays committed to continuing her yoga and meditation education by not only participating in a 300hr program, but also by attending various workshops across the country. These workshops include many authorized Ashtanga instructors such as Kino Macgregor, Doug Swenson, Taylor Hunt, Harmony Slater, Russell Altice-Case, & Heather Serna. Through Svelte Yoga, Stephanie stays dedicated to providing an environment conducive to the client’s physical AND spiritual fitness. Stephanie believes everyone is capable of practicing yoga and is willing to accommodate every single person that is willing to grow into becoming a better human being inside and out. If that means the client spends the whole practice in child’s pose focusing on the breath, that’s what the client is welcome to do! Svelte Yoga is all about helping the client develop a practice that is individual to their needs and understand the client’s needs may vary depending on the day. Stephanie will help guide you through a practice that is safe, but still challenges you to grow. We are all so divinely unique and each practice should reflect that. Feel free to
