BC Hydro aimed to successfully install a safe, reliable, and cost-efficient smart metering solution and other key infrastructure upgrades. Goals were to deliver operational efficiencies, enhance reliability for customers, and provide customers with tools to use energy more efficiently; a $900M program. Sure Power Consulting has provided broad support for this program as a specialized augmentation partner to the lead integrator partner, secondary integrator partners, and directly to the client utility. To date, SPC has provided over 20 consultants and Subject Matter Experts from the Business Transformation Office Leader, to multiple Integration Security Designers. The Pacific Gas and Electric Company is an investor-owned utility that provides natural gas and electricity to most of the northern two-thirds of California. Since 2012, PG&E has requested nearly $2B in gas distribution capital expenditures. Sure Power Consulting has been identified as a niche supplier for specific Smart Grid and technology skillsets for the Pathfinder Project, a $65M program to enhance and convert PG&E’s gas distribution asset data into an integrated GIS/SAP system. Currently, we have numerous consultants engaged working in GIS, MWM, RF/WiFi Communications, Program/Project Management, and Systems/Performance Testing. With 2.4 million customers, NV Energy is a public utility which generates, transmits and distributes electric and natural gas service in northern and southern Nevada. The utility received $138 million in ARRA funding to develop a smarter energy grid, including implementing a commercial Demand Response product for the retail utility market. Sure Power Consulting has provided the Business Process and Planning Lead, Test Lead, Business Analysts, and multiple Test Analysts.
