The Story of Sunshine Cozy Cottages Motel These lovely, quaint cottages complete with their old-fashioned porches may seem to be from another era; that's because they are. The 14 cottages that comprise Sunshine Cozy Cottages date back to pre-WW II, ca. 1930. During the 1950s Arthur Godfrey broadcast his radio show from the cottages and many big band era personalities such as the Andrews Sisters would stay there. Many years later a two lane road was built between Sunshine Cozy Cottages and the beach. These days you can still view the gulf from the private porch of several of the cottages while having the security of your children not having immediate access to the water. By taking that 30-second walk to the beach you can save a lot of money to spend on things other than your accommodations. And for those couples that have dreamed about having a beach wedding, what could be better than having your wedding party and friends all staying in their own cottages, next to each other? This is an affordable reality at Sunshine Cozy Cottages. Indian Rocks Beach reputedly got its name from the pilgrimage of Indians who came to the area to bathe and drink the healing waters from the springs. These same artesian wells still run under the ground of Sunshine Cozy Cottages. I had the most wonderful experience while at Sunshine Cozy Cottages. It was a perfect getaway for me and my little girl.
